Michelle is a graduate of the University of Southern California's Levantal School of Accounting. As a proud Trojan, Michelle has been serving the community's accounting needs since founding Abacus Accountancy in 2007.

Senior Audit & Tax Partner
Ms. Chen has a Ph.D. in Finance, MBA in Taxation and Bachelor’s in Accounting. She worked as the Chief Financial Officer for a NASDAQ listed company, and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers before she joined ABACUS.

Tax Knowledge Tidbits:
Converting S Corporation to Partnership
A simple conversion of an S corporation to a partnership will be considered a taxable liquidation of the S corporation, resulting in the reignition of gain on the corporation's appreciated assets. Therefore, such conversion is generally not advisable.
